In this article, I will try to explain why the existence of hell & heaven is necessary to prove that robbing is a bad thing and that there is no true justice unless religion exists.
Religion dictates how we should be living our lives. Most religions tell us that a bad way of living might lead us to hellfire and since we most likely won´t have a second chance at life we should be concerned about how we live our current lives. We simply should not use the trial and error principle for our lives. It is too precious to risk it that way. Let´s look at an example.
When we decide to collect mushrooms in the forest, we do not just go and pick random mushrooms hoping that the ones that we picked are not bad for ourselves. We ask an expert in that field. We seek his help and his expertise.
Or let´s say that you have a sickness that needs to be treated. The first person you go and ask is a doctor because you trust in his knowledge about this particular matter.
Similarly, we should be seeking guidance about how we should be living our lives. And what better source is there than the creator of life itself.
Is robbing a bad thing?
We come to find ourselves a moral issue that a world without religion has. Let´s have a thinking session together and ask ourselves: Is robbing a good or a bad thing? Most of us, if we are good-hearted people will say that robbing is a bad thing. Very obvious right? Actually not so obvious if we think about it.
So let´s say that I am a leader of a very powerful mafia organization and I earn my life by robbing people. Now tell me that robbing is a bad thing and I should quit doing it. Please think about all the possible things you can say to me to convince me to stop robbing before continuing to read.
Is it immoral?
Some of you might say that robbing is immoral and it´s bad for the person who got robbed. Yes and that is true but from my perspective, it does not change a thing. I will keep living the luxurious life that I am living and since I am used to this crime I won´t even think about the poor person that was robbed in the first place.
Fear of police
Some of you might say that the police might hear about it and they might catch me and put me in jail. That´s actually concerning but as I said in the beginning, I am the leader of a powerful mafia organization and I happened to have powerful people inside the executive, whether they are high-ranking police officers, high-ranking military lieutenants, or even ministers.
Any other suggestions as, to why robbing is a bad thing? No?
How to actually prove that robbing is bad
With all the science and technology, humankind can not even prove that robbing is a bad thing. In such cases, we simply need a creator who tells us the difference between bad and good.
Not only that but the creator must also tell us that bad deeds have consequences. Good people live for justice and they demand justice. We are left unsatisfied if there is no justice, which is sadly currently the truth for this earth that we live in. The law can not maintain justice. Corruption is everywhere. We wish for wrongdoers to be punished but we know that there are so many known or unknown cases where the wrongdoer was unpunished and even lived a beautiful life on top of that. There is no justice unless there is an afterlife. With a day of judgment and God as a judge, we can say that robbing is a bad thing. With religion, we are aware of bad and good and the consequences of rejecting the boundaries of bad and good.
Can we punish Hitler?
Let´s think of a big crime that we all are familiar with. Hitler ordered millions of innocent people to be gassed, burned, starved to death, and to be killed. Let´s assume that our worldly justice caught Hitler and decided to punish him. Let´s see the options that we´ve got. What is the worst punishment to give Hitler? Some might say burn to death, drown, hanged, or put into a cell until death takes him. But does any of these punishments rectify what he has done to so many people? The answer is no. That indicates that we live in an unjust, unfair world where people can commit huge crimes and not receive a just punishment. On top of that, they might even live a more beautiful life than many good people. This is an indication that our world is unjust unless there is religion.
Some of you might think how God might punish Hitler to justify the deaths of millions of people.
"Those who reject our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire: as often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise."
In this verse of the Quran, there is a scientific miracle hidden. Allah says that He will give them fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty after their skins are roasted through. Our pain receptors are mostly placed in our skin. So once the old skin is roasted through and cannot feel pain anymore Allah will replace it with fresh skin, so that they continue feeling the punishment that they earned.
Morality and justice are two very important topics that have been around since the start of mankind. They keep changing according to the moral values of the society we live in. What was morally unacceptable 100 years ago might be now a very common behaviour. This will lead to a future with no moral values whatsoever. That´s why it is very important to mind the boundaries that God has set for us. He has created us and He knows what is best for us. He also offers us the justice that we cannot provide for ourselves.
